David Johnston – Dothan Estate Planning Attorney

Mr. Johnston is a shareholder in the firm. He holds a J.D. degree from Cumberland School of Law and an LL.M. in taxation from New York University.

Mr. Johnston is experienced in a broad range of practice areas. Mr. Johnston provides expertise to individual and corporate clients, including tax planning for individuals, corporations and other business entities. He has represented clients in state and federal tax controversies in administrative and judicial forums, including the United States Tax Court and Federal and Alabama courts. Mr. Johnston has represented clients in civil tax controversies as well as defended clients in criminal tax cases.

Mr. Johnston has extensive experience with ERISA, including drafting and administering retirement plans. He is also experienced in forming and representing corporations, limited liability companies, and partnerships. Mr. Johnston regularly advises corporate and business clients in matters concerning corporate reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions and similar business transactions. Mr. Johnston also assists individuals in estate planning matters, including drafting of wills and trusts, probating wills, administering decedents’ estates and asset management and preservation.

Mr. Johnston has experience in securities law and has represented commercial banks in the sale of stock, in reorganization and in other types of securities transactions.
